Apprenticeships
A real job with a salary, holiday leave and free training built into your working week. Earn while you learn — at no cost to you.
What to expect
An apprenticeship at Gloucester City Council is a genuine job — not a training course with work experience attached. You will have a contract of employment, a competitive salary, the same holiday allowance as all other staff and dedicated study time built into your working week at no cost to you.
From day one, you are treated exactly the same as any other employee, with the same rights, responsibilities and opportunities for progression.
Where you could work
Apprenticeship roles span a wide range of functions — from visitor experience at our museums and the Guildhall, through to operational and administrative roles across the council. The specific roles vary depending on current vacancies, so check back regularly or set up a job alert.
Support throughout your apprenticeship
- Self-study and e-learning resources
- One-to-one coaching sessions
- A designated mentor throughout your programme
- Technical skills training delivered by dedicated training providers
