Annual leave
Grades up to F
Start with 25 days (pro rata) annual leave, rising to 30 days (pro rata) after 5 years' continuous service.
Grade G and above
30 days (pro rata) annual leave from the start of your employment.
Chief Officers
30 days (pro rata) annual leave.
Additional leave for everyone
You can buy up to 10 additional days of leave each year. You also receive 2 days of paid volunteering leave to support causes you care about in the community.

Pension

The LGPS is a defined-benefit, salary-related pension. Your retirement income is based on your pay and length of service — not the stock market. This gives you genuine peace of mind about your financial future.
- Employee contributions: 5.5% to 12.5% depending on salary
- Employer contribution: approximately two-thirds of the total scheme cost
